They did some repair on the gravel road as I was able to ride all the way to the trailhead. Last year I had to walk half way. The trail itself was much improved too with some switchbacks added in the steep section near the end. They also created some tent pads along the lake shore and around the hut. The rocky path from the hut to Wedgemount Glacier was neatly groomed as well.
After setting up tent, I hiked up part way to Mount Cook to take some sunset pictures. The view was very nice. It was quite windy which kept the bugs away most of the time.
The next morning I hiked up Mount Weart, at least that was my plan but there was a scramble section at the waterfall which I'm not comfortable with so that was as far as I went. But I did take some pictures of Wedgemount Glacier.
Back at the campsite, I spent the afternoon resting. Then more photographs of sunset. The next morning, I got up early around 5AM to pack up in order to catch the bus home.
